Did you know there are different types of Capos?

Cheaper models often use a spring clamp or trigger system that allow you to release the capo and move it around quickly and easily. The drawback of these is that you cannot adjust the tension, and the pressure it exerts on the strings can cause them to buzz, lose tune quicker, or wear down over time.

The adjustable capo was developed in the late 70’s by Rick Shubb and Dave Coontz and soon took off as the preferred capo of many musicians. While still utilising the clamp system to lock in the position of the capo on the neck, it also features a screw for you to manually adjust the tension on the strings. Once this is set it can be moved up and down the neck whilst maintaining the optimal tension. This customised approach enables you to limit potential buzz from the strings and keeps them in tune longer. It also keeps the strings and the capo itself in good condition for longer.
